Leslie Gonzales
LPC, Clinical TherapistLeslie Gonzales is a pre-licensed therapist who earned her Master’s degree in counseling from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Throughout her master’s program, Leslie gained experience working with various populations in different settings to help them achieve their goals. Her experiences include providing outpatient counseling services to individuals with substance use disorders and guidance counseling services to students earning their high school equivalency credentials. Growing up in Hawaii, Leslie learned the value of practicing cultural humility. She also utilizes trauma-informed care to create a safe space for her clients. Leslie incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and motivational interviewing approaches in her practice. She employs these modalities to foster client autonomy, establish meaningful goals, and collaborate with clients to identify their motivations for achieving those goals. Leslie is interested in working with clients across the lifespan to address issues such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, eating disorders, life transitions, and career-related challenges.
